Join a writing, publishing and tenure group! Plan your career, write consistently and move towards your goals in a supportive, action-oriented environment.

  • Are you finding it difficult to write consistently?
  • Is it hard to find time for writing amidst other academic demands?
  • Are you having trouble dealing with other career issues, such as departmental politics, teaching or developing your research trajectory?
  • Would you like more chances to discuss and get objective feedback about the challenges you face?
  • Do you worry about whether you are going to publish enough to get tenure?
  • Are you feeling blocked creatively or discouraged by setbacks?

I run an ongoing faculty group which you can join! I always start new groups when the current group becomes full, so don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like more information about whether a group is right for you. .  We focus on time management and accountability, with an emphasis on small consistent actions. Achieving concrete goals is a main focus.

Benefits of joining this group will be:

    • Steady progress towards your writing and publishing goals
    • A more clear sense of your career vision
    • Learning new techniqes that will become good habits
    • A feeling of being on top of your work load and not buried under it
    • A sense of support
    • Renewed excitement and vigor about your work and ideas

A coaching or support group will provide you with valuable, unbiased feedback.  The members of the group can be a sounding board for problematic issues that you may be facing, and a source of encouragement.

The group meets weekly for an hour on a teleconference bridge line.  Confidentiality will be emphasized.  To that end, I may limit the group to one person per discipline, according to the wishes of each group member.

Many "superstars" both in academia and in the corporate world use coaches to help them perform optimally.  Why shouldn't you?

Please contact me if you are interested in learning more.
